Football has been on earth for more than 200 years. It began in 1863 in England, when rugby football and association foorball branches off on their different courses and the world's first football association was founded.
Apart from the absolute necessity to employ the legs and feet in a tough bodily tussle for the ball, often without any laws for protection, it was no doubt recognised right at the outset that the art of controlling the ball with the feet was difficult, and that playing soccer required talent and techniques.
